Affordable Housing
Fairness, justice, and community safety cannot prevail if we fail to provide the most basic, universal human needs to our community. Housing is a human right and every family deserves to live with peace, security, and dignity, no matter their socioeconomic status. Yet, corporate investors are causing home prices to skyrocket, while simultaneously pricing our neighbors out of the rental market. It is no wonder that more than 151,000 families with children have been reported experiencing homelessness per year while LGBTQ youth make up 40% of homeless youth but only 7% of the youth population.
Erica is dedicated to ensuring every person lives with dignity. When elected, Erica will:
- Prioritize advocacy for the unhoused and advance their human right to housing.
- Expand renter protections, including rent stabilization for seniors and limiting unfair rental fees.
- Work to increase affordable housing projects.
- Increase services for those experiencing chronic homelessness, including supportive housing.
- Limit the purchasing power of corporate investors.
What can you do?
- Vote for local and statewide candidates who support measures that will bring rent under control and put home ownership in reach of middle class families.
- Make sure that your friends and family show up on Election Day, vote by mail, or vote early!
- Volunteer with candidates you support to help them reach as many voters as possible.
