Climate Justice
Nevada must take a stand in combating climate change by investing in ethical alternatives to fossil fuels and protecting communities from the impact of rising temperatures and pollution. Across the State of Nevada, low-income communities, people of color, and indigenous populations have disproportionately borne the burden of climate change and fossil fuel extraction. Reno was named the fastest warming U.S. city in 2022, with an increased average temperature of 7.8 degrees Fahrenheit since 1978
Erica is dedicated to protecting our public lands, expanding the urban canopy, and standing up to industry that preys on vulnerable communities.
When elected, Erica will:
- Work to increase Reno’s urban canopy to reduce the impact of rising temperatures.
- Center impacted voices while working to divest from fossil fuels.
- Support infrastructure for low-income communities to protect from the health consequences of climate change.
